![]() Bots, short for Combat Robots, are another big part of battling. The most simple way to describe them is that they are extra opponents in the game for you to attack and kill in battle. There are two main reasons why bots are so popular to battle. The first is that they give you 1.5 times the exp of an alien at the same level would give. For example, if you kill a level 10 alien you will receive 522 exp., but if you kill a level 10 bot you receive 783 exp. The second attractive aspect about bots is that they have alignment. This means that in addition to getting a bonus in experience when killing a bot, you also can boost your alignment (just like you would with a normal player). But, there is a drawback to fighting a bot. Each time you initiate a battle with a bot (whether you win or lose), a small fee is deducted from your bank account. The reason for this fee is to help pay back the player who created the bot. Creating Bots You can create a bot at Dyson Botwerks. The way you pay for a bot is with motivation. The "rules" for making bots are as follows: you need two Robotic study points for each level, each level on your bot costs 7 motivation, and for every 10,000 alignment you pay 1 motivation. So, if you wanted to make a level 10 bot with 100,000 alignment you would need 20 classes in Robotics, you would have to pay 70 motivation for the levels, and another 10 motivation for the alignment. When your bot is built, you will see it listed in Dyson Botwerks. After you make the bot, you can go to its details page and set how much you want to charge each time someone attacks your bot. Pricing is a little complicated. Each bot (depending on its level) has a base price. That way players can't undercut each other when it comes to setting bot prices. However, you can raise the fee and add on whatever you think is a good amount to charge to attack your bot. The extra price you choose plus the base price is the final fee that everyone will pay when they attack your bot. Your cut of the fee (since you own the bot) is 50%. So if you charge 1,000 credits to fight your bot, you will receive 500 credits every time someone attacks it. Bot Upkeep From the day bots are created, they are subscribed for 50 days. After that time of subscription runs out, you have 20 days to re-subscribe it before it is deleted. You re-subscribe a bot the same you way you can pay for another player's subscription. You go to the Finance Office and with any of the three payment options (Paypal, Credit/Debit Card, or bytes), you can enter the ID of your bot and pay for a month of subscription. While your bot is unsubscribed no one can attack it. Finding Bots If you are looking for bots to battle, you have to do a battle trace for it. Go to the Battle screen and under Advanced trace click trace. There you can set your different trace options including the Bot Filter. If you have the Bot Filter set to "Is a Combat Robot," all you will see on your trace is bots. The nice feature about having bots appear in trace is that you can see their price without having to go to their details page. Once you learn a bot's base price for a certain level, you will know who is charging very high or who is giving you a good deal. [back] |
