![]() This document comes into effect as of now. I am still accepting comments on it but from this point on this document is the most current, most official guild laws. You may freely share this with your members/whoever: Guild Law Any new guild laws that are fully amended take precedence immediately, and are applicable to all current and future guilds and guild administration. Guilds and Guild Leadership A. Guilds are not a game commodity; they are “leased” to players and remain the property of the game at all times. Guilds may be forcibly seized from guild leaders if a situation warrants it. B. Guild Requirements The following are a list of requirements to maintain guild leadership. If they are not met, control of the guild may revert back to control of the game.: 1. Maintain an active, productive guild that does not overly restrict the ability for new members to join, or show that a good faith effort to recruit is occurring. (i.e. a guild cannot become a closed clubhouse for a few) 2. Maintain an active presence on the Guild Summit board (read it often, no need to participate) and be fully aware of all rule/requirement changes. C. Guild Charters There is no formal recognition of guild charters; it is up to guild members to maintain spirit and law of charters. In charter situations game administration will assist, (leader rotations, etc) but will not be involved in internal arbitration. That is to say, from the administration’s point of view, the current guild leader is the decision maker concerning all guild affairs. D. Guild Mergers A guild may merge with another guild, moving all members and assets over. The control of the initial guild reverts back to the game. E. Guild leadership is transferable, if a leader wishes to relinquish control of a guild: # The guild recipient can be game administration. # The guild recipient must have approval from at least one game administrator. # The guild recipient must be approved by the majority of the guild. The election process can use whatever means the guild finds acceptable, provided there is an audit trail and the wishes of the majority of the guild members are represented. F. Guild leaders cannot request the removal of their guild from the game structure. Game administration recognizes no official retiring of guild names, concepts or terms. Leaders who wish to end their guild can sanitize their customizations before transfer. Guild Rules A. Leaders who run out of subscription days have their guild doors auto-locked. If the leader does not re-subscribe in the following 30 days, the guild will be seized by game staff. Temporary control of the guild will be passed down the established chain of command until a subscribed member is found. If there are no suitable candidates, the guild will be seized by game staff. B. Jailed leaders cannot have changes made to their Guild Staff or Guild Settings while they are in jail. In essence, while a leader is jailed the guild ceases to be under their control, and reverts back to game ownership until their term is served. If the sentence is for an extended period of time (begins to negatively impact a guild's ability to perform its functions), another leader will be placed by vote of the guild. C. Guilds that are found to be in violation of game rules may be fined. Guilds which are found to be in violation of game rules numerous times may have their leader removed and the doors auto-locked indefinitely. Guilds which engage in serious cases of fraud, theft, harboring of stolen assets, or flagrant and/or frequent decency law violations may be seized. Guild leaders who engage in illegal activity may be fined or jailed. Their guilds may be subject to being seized in such cases. D. Guilds that are “hacked” will have assets returned only if they can be found and recovered. There must be a clear evidence trail in order for assets to be returned. E. Guilds that receive assets that are known or suspected of being obtained through illegal measures are required to notify game administration promptly. Guilds that are found to be in violation of this requirement are subject to a range of penalties including fines, seizure of assets to compensate the victim(s), or seizure of the guild. F. Guild staff titles and names may not mimic or duplicate those of game administration for the intention of confusing players. G. Any external portion of the guild (anything a non-guild member can view) must comply with all laws and requirements as to decency, player privacy and player harassment laws. Internally these are at the discretion of guild leadership. H. Game rules and policies regarding guilds, as laid down by Game Management, and implemented by Game Administration, always take precedence over individual rules effected by a single guild. I. Any unrequested modifications to a guild's internal data by a game staff member must be announced to the guild on its discussion board. Guild Summit The Guild Summit exists to provide leaders and co-leaders a place where they can engage in private discussions. # Guild Summit members are expected to behave in a mature manner and to be aware of all Guild Summit posting rules. # You may not copy and post GS posts on any other location in the game, unless they are final, approved changes made by game administration, with clear notification the information can be reposted. You may never repost content posted by other Summit members without their prior permission. [back] |
